Cricket Scoring - Bowling analysis - No-Balls with runs off the bat

Fig 1

No-Balls with runs 'Off the bat'.
Scenario - (5th over B.Lokes) First 2 balls are dot balls and then the third delivery is a No-Ball the bowler either stepped over the crease line in his action or bowled an above waist height delivery. The umpire calls "No Ball" and signals, but the batter strikes the ball and runs two.
Fig 2

As before with the call of 'No-Ball'! Acknowledge the signal and then pause before you look down and start making the entry, ideally wait for the ball to become 'Dead'. In this case the batters have run two having struck the ball and seen the opportunity to make runs.

Like with the wides the No-Ball symbol (The circle) indicates one run against the bowler. The number that is then entered inside the circle is how many runs were made as a result of striking the ball. This 3rd ball of the over as we can see was hit and the batters ran 2. So the bowler has 3 runs against him for that delivery.

The 4th ball of the over is a dot ball and then the 5th is another No-Ball and the batter has smacked it out of the park for 6. So the total for this ball is 7 (1 for the No-Ball and 6 for hitting over the boundary). The final three balls are dot balls.
As with wides, if a No-Ball is bowled another delivery is added to the over. So 2 No-Balls means that the bowler has had to bowl two extra balls, making this an 8 ball over.

The bowlers figures for the previous over were 12 runs for 0 wickets. This over the bowler has gone for 10 runs. 3 for the first No-Ball and 2 runs and 7 for the second No-Ball and 6 runs. The bowlers end of over figures are now 22 for 0.

Note In the Batters "Runs scored" row. The 2 runs and the 6 runs are recorded and credited to him/her, but the No-Ball component has to be added to the Extras. The runs off the bat are the batters and the No-Ball is credited as a team run as such.

In the Cumultive Tally all 2 and 7 runs are recorded.

The next section deals with symbols for "No-Ball Byes with Leg-Byes"
